Ascension (Tetons)

As the winter solstice graces the land, "Ascension (Tetons)" captures the quiet strength and stillness of the Wyoming landscape. The majestic Teton mountain range rises against a crisp, winter sky, blanketed in soft snow. This work reflects the turning point in the year when days begin to lengthen, symbolizing renewal and hope. The rich oil textures bring depth to the scene, pulling viewers into a moment of reflection, much like the solstice itself — a time for deep inner work and gathering of energy.

Through this painting, the spirit of the land, the ancestors, and the shifting seasons converge. It is a tribute to the natural beauty and spiritual presence of these mountains, their timelessness, and the renewal they inspire. The brushstrokes evoke both realism and abstraction, allowing the viewer to feel the vastness of the landscape while connecting to something more ethereal — the spirit of winter itself.

May this piece remind you of the quiet power within nature, and the presence of all who have come before, as you journey through this season of reflection and new beginnings.
